The likeness registry
Your likeness.Your terms.Finally.
Semblance means a likeness — and yours belongs to you. Semblance is the licensing layer for people and characters in AI media: verified talent set the price, the rules, and the red lines; productions book with real consent and clean paperwork. A casting agency you can call from an API.

How it works
Consent in, provenance out.
For talent
Verify.
Prove you’re you (ID + liveness) — or prove you own your character. Nobody lists a face that isn’t theirs.
Set terms.
Price, use categories, exclusions, approval mode — from “ask me every time” to “auto-approve small ads.” Your call, machine-readable.
Get paid.
Approve bookings from your dashboard, get paid through escrow, and see every licensed use of your likeness.
For buyers
Search.
Browse verified people and owned characters by look, voice, language, and use category — via web or API.
License.
Get a quote and a signed, machine-readable license with the consent records your legal team actually wants.
Produce.
Download cleared reference assets for any approved generation platform. Every delivery carries verifiable provenance.
For talent
AI is going to use somebody’s face.
Make sure yours pays rent.
Avatar platforms trap your license inside their walls and set your split for you. Semblance doesn’t.
You keep your IP. Always.
Listing here transfers nothing. Your face, your voice, your character — still yours.
Transparent, creator-favorable splits.
You see the math on every deal — and it beats the 20–50% agencies and stock marketplaces take.
Portable everything.
Your profile and data leave when you do. One profile, valid across approved platforms — not locked inside one.
Every use, visible.
A dashboard log of each license, each output, each dollar. No surprises found in the wild.
Revocation is real.
Pull consent and new generations stop. That’s in the contract, not the FAQ.
For buyers
Casting for AI production, with the rights actually cleared.
Unlicensed likeness is now a statutory-damages problem. Semblance makes the licensed path the easy path.
Legal cover, not vibes
Documented, jurisdiction-aware consent built to the standards of digital-replica statutes — plus auditable records if anyone ever asks.
Machine-readable licenses
An open schema covering use, term, territory, exclusivity, and exclusions. Your compliance tooling can parse it.
Book by API or MCP
Search, quote, license, and download in one programmatic flow — human approval loops included where talent requires them.
Provenance on every delivery
Content Credentials and a public verification endpoint on every asset. Prove it’s licensed, to anyone.
Creative checked before release
Finished advertising creative is compliance-reviewed — regulatory, channel, and brand rules plus the license’s red lines — before it ships. Your exposure, limited by default.
Market context on every quote
Track records on profiles and comp ranges on quotes, attributed to the source. A fee with neighbors, not a guess.
For AI agents
Your agent can cast the campaign itself.
The Semblance MCP server lets an AI producer search talent, request quotes, execute licenses within talent-approved parameters, and pull cleared assets — with human confirmation above the thresholds talent sets. Spec published at launch.
search_talent("…") ↓ request_quote(talent_id) ↓ execute_license(booking_id) // human-confirmed above threshold ↓ download_assets(license_id) // C2PA + watermark, always

Questions
Asked, answered, on the record.
Is this about replacing actors?
No — the opposite. Generation tools exist; what’s missing is the layer that makes them pay the people they depict. Semblance exists so real people control whether, where, and at what price their likeness appears. Consent, control, compensation. No synthetic-only “AI talent” on our roster.
What about my union?
We build paperwork designed to be compatible with union digital-replica requirements, and we’d rather work with unions than around them. We never ask anyone to breach a contract. If you’re union, your obligations come first — check with your rep.
What stops misuse?
Verified buyers, talent-set exclusions in every license, watermarked deliveries traceable to a license ID, misuse monitoring, and takedown workflows. Unlicensed use gets found; licensed use gets verified.
Who owns my data and IP?
You do. Reference materials sit in encrypted, access-logged storage; we license usage rights, never sell your biometric data, and delete on request. Leave anytime and take everything with you.
What does it cost?
Free to list. Semblance takes a transparent 12–18% of each license — against the 20–50% VTuber agencies take and the 60–85% stock marketplaces keep. Buyers pay the license price; no subscription required.
Which generation platforms can I use licensed assets on?
Any platform on the license’s allowlist — that’s what makes Semblance licenses portable instead of locked to one tool. Talent control the allowlist; every delivered asset carries C2PA credentials so platforms can check the license before generating.
When does it launch?
First deals are being brokered now with design partners. The marketplace opens to the waitlist in stages over the coming months. Early sign-ups get first access.
